Happy New Year!

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy New Year! It's hard to believe it is almost 2010! I will be open until 4 pm today, December 31st. Closed tomorrow for New Year's Day, and reopening for Saturday and Sunday 10-5. Let's hope we don't get too much snow!

Tin pan with onions

Cool old tin pan has little perforations around the rim, so maybe it was used as some type of colander. I have some paper mache onions that were made in Mexico inside.

Carl Weber print of sheep in field

I just love anything with sheep. There is something so appealing to me about them! This is a large print with wonderful old frame. The print was done by Carl Weber (1850-1921) The frame measures approx. 36 by 27 inches.

Laundry section

I did some rearranging while I was closed, and made up a new little laundry area on top of one of the Hoosier cupboards.

Wall of rug beaters

All of a sudden I have acquired several rug beaters in various shapes and sizes. I do like to see them grouped together. It makes for an eye catching display.

Hand made wall hanging gun

This is an interesting hand made wall hanging

black powder muzzle loader. It doesn't actually fire, but it looks very realistic. Metal plate on gun is marked Spain.

Wooden slatted shutters

A pair of white slatted shutters. These would make great shelves, or they would be great for a crafting project or to just display something. Nice chippy paint for that old look we all love!

Child's ironing board

Older ironing board is small for a great little display! (Shown sitting on top is a sleeve board, which is not attached!)
SOLD!

Deb's handiwork

After her open house, Deb of Rustic Country Handcrafts brought by some of her beautiful pieces. This is just one of the many fine items she has for sale. A beautiful hand made table runner with a snowman and the words Winter Blessings. Has small jingle bells attached along the sides!

Heavy wooden box with lid

I bought this heavy old box up at an auction in Laconia. Nice dove tail
joints on
corners.
Very rugged!
Grayish
green finish.

Interesting dog sled

Neat wooden dog sled has slatted seat, and metal runners. The seat back has a pin in it. When you remove the pin, the seat folds down so the whole sled is flat for storage. This is the time of the year to display this piece! SOLD!

Great Bear Spring Company water bottle

Cool water bottle with cap showing the trademark bear for Great Bear Spring Company. Front of bottle has embossed bear on glass.
SOLD!

juggling pin with hand painted Santa

Somehow this juggling pin ended up in my store. It had originally been painted with an Uncle Sam. I thought it would be much better to turn Uncle Sam into Santa! My friend Deb helped me transform him into Santa. We are lucky it looks anything like Santa because I think we drank half a large bottle of wine while we were painting!

Large aluminum scoop

This is the biggest scoop I have had. It looks like it would hold a five pound bag of flour!

Hand crank yarn winder

Hand cranked primitive yarn winder. Early construction is hand pegged with wood. I have seen a lot of these, but usually the stand is missing. SOLD!

Aspen the brown nosed reindeer!

I don't usually like to see dogs in costumes, but I found these reindeer antlers while unpacking Christmas decorations. Unfortunately for Aspen, he was in the room at the time, and they matched his fur color so perfectly! He only had to wear them long enough to take a quick picture!

Tin cake box

Tin cake tin with graphics still showing through the chipped paint. Has it's lid too!
SOLD!

Green enamel top table

I love the way this table looks in the store with it's wonderful green finish. I'm afraid it won't be here long! SOLD! :(

Tool tote number 43 (just kidding!)

I really have no idea how many of these I have had, but they are very popular! Measures 25 by 10 inches. They look so pretty at this time of year, filled with greens. Black paint.
SOLD!

Christmas crow wall hanging

Primitive wall hanging is a Christmas crow wearing a Santa hat. He is holding two candy canes under his wing. Brushed with cinnamon, he smells delicious too!

Divided box

Divided box used to have a lid. It looks great on it's side as shown here, or you could lay it flat. Perfect for displaying your small treasures!
